A collaboration with Warsaw University of Technology Racing (WUTR) to produce a video case study for sustainable HPC running in Liquid Immersion Cooling. This is a ground-breaking project that aims to showcase why our design, architecture and optimisation skills are so valuable. This is another first in the world project running Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations on Immersed GPUs using Ansys Fluent.
Using just a single virtual machine with 64x core, 128GB memory and a single A40 using GPU passthrough, we’re able to run the aerodynamics simulations on a Formula Student Series race car 3x quicker than the team currently execute on their HPC cluster. We are using Nutanix on our Dell R750 cluster which was funded by Intel in 2023.
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our ecosystem partners which consists of BP Castrol, GRC, CentersquareDC, UNICOM Engineering and CADFEM UK. This case study kicks off an exciting 12 months for both WUTR and CodeZero. We will drive improvements to WUTR’s race car performance by allowing them run more simulations, delivering quicker results whilst providing the ability to capture and repurpose 100% of the heat generated by heat transfer in the Immersion rack
